Town to unveil LED light attraction

Town to unveil LED light attractionA South Tyneside town will soon unveil its LED light installation following months of delays.

Hebburn Riverside Park is set to receive the exhibit created by Charles Quick as part of a scheme promoting arts in the area.

Entitled Flash@Hebburn, the installation features LED lights and cost £150,000 to construct.

Mr Quick told how he drew on the knowledge of local people to put-together the light sculpture that reflects the towns’ industrial past.

Tracey Dixon, lead member for culture and wellbeing at South Tyneside Council, stated that the LED light exhibit is likely to be a hit with residents.

“The project has developed into a landmark project the whole community can be proud of, and will become the final and most spectacular piece in the Art on the Riverside programme,” she said.

“We hope people will come out in force and join us to help initiate Flash@Hebburn into the north-east’s public art scene.”

Mr Quick spent seven years creating the exhibit which will be unveiled in the park this March.

I would recommend LED Synergy to anyone considering purchasing an LED sign. We have had so many compliments since it was installed and it has been a valuable asset.
