Technology for LED streetlights is “advanced”
Council officials from Scotland have proposed replacing incandescent bulbs with LED lights to fight rising costs.
James Millar, councillor for Angus, has suggested that the region installs LED technology into its streetlights.
The county saw the cost of replacing its streetlights soar by 50 per cent this year if it uses traditional lamps.
Mr Millar’s proposal to use LED lighting was welcomed by other council officials who believe the technology could have a positive impact on the area.
“The benefits of LED street lights are considerable. They require half the energy of conventional lights, they burn for around five times longer, and are almost maintenance free,” he told the Arbroath Herald.
“They are more efficient in that the light they produce is easier to direct. We would also be helping the environment and reducing our carbon footprint.”
The London Light is aiming to make the capital city the first to be entirely lit with LED bulbs.
I would recommend LED Synergy to anyone considering purchasing an LED sign. We have had so many compliments since it was installed and it has been a valuable asset.
