Mobile phone photos to appear on LED screen
New Year’s Eve party-goers in Times Square will be able to send photos to LED screens on the night.
An LED screen located in the famous square will display photos of revellers which can be sent via mobile phones.
The idea for the interactive LED board was put forward by Pixel Fire Productions and is expected to be a hit with party-goers.
Steve Bumstead, company founder, stated that encouraging the public to interact with advertising boards via mobile technology could help boost revenue.
“We have over 200 million cell phone users in the US and that number is growing every day. Times Square is the crossroads of the world and what’s better than New Year’s,” he said.
“They’re spending $200 million [£138,000,000] annually on video features and content for phones.”
Meanwhile, the huge ball dropped at Times Square to mark the New Year has been installed with 9,576 LED lights.
I would recommend LED Synergy to anyone considering purchasing an LED sign. We have had so many compliments since it was installed and it has been a valuable asset.
