LED light candles launched

Candles illuminated with LED lights are safer alternatives to those formed from wax, industry experts report.

Due to the lack of a naked flame, lighting specialist Florin Tibu has stated that LED lit candles are less of a fire hazard.

In addition, smoke is not produced by the devices which may appeal to some homeowners.

Ms Tibu explains that consumers can purchase many different types of LED light candles such as those emitting blue or yellow hues.

The innovative lighting devices are textured to feel like wax and the LED light within it can even be blown out like traditional candles.

“While built from solid wax, there is no way to tell that they’re not the real deal from a distance,” she told Softpedia.

“Even when you get really close, the texture of the wax and the carefully-engineered flicker of the LED lamp will create a very strong feeling of authenticity.”

The devices come in a variety of shapes such as those resembling tea-lights and tapered candles.
