LED light adorned tree takes up three floors

A Christmas tree decorated with thousands of LED lights appears to take up three storeys of a family home in Dorset.

Grieg Howe, a designer, told how he created the optical illusion in order to give his sons the biggest Christmas tree the family have had.

The 35-foot tree appears to grow from the first floor of the family’s home straight through to the roof of the house.

Some 2000 LED lights decorate the tree in addition to a large star placed on its top.

Mr Howe actually cut the tree at each level of the home in order to make is appear as if it has grown through its floorboards and roof.

“The branches are ten-feet long so it is a bit of a tight fit to get in the lounge. There were a hell of a lot of needles to clear up afterwards but it was all worth it because it looks great,” he said.

According to Get Surrey, an artificial Christmas tree measuring 27.85 metres and adorned with 96,000 LED lights is the biggest in the UK.
