Cider press lit up with LED lights
A Devon tourist attraction has converted its Christmas displays to LED lights in a bid to become greener.
The Cider Press Centre, at Dartington Hall, is currently glowing with 7,000 festive LED bulbs.
Up to 90 per cent less energy is used thanks to the energy-saving lights and the centre plans to install more.
The move comes as a result of the hall’s commitment to cut its carbon footprint to zero.
Doctor Jon Rae, sustainability coordinator for the attraction, explained that replacing traditional bulbs with the innovative lamps will have a significant impact on the estate’s carbon output.
“All 7,000 lights have been replaced by low-energy LED bulbs,” he said.
“In their six-year life, the new Christmas lights will reduce the Cider Press carbon footprint by one tonne each season.”
Other plans include the installation of LED streetlights on the historic estate which will run on wind and solar power.
I would recommend LED Synergy to anyone considering purchasing an LED sign. We have had so many compliments since it was installed and it has been a valuable asset.
