City to install LED light fountain

City to install LED light fountainA West Midlands city is set to install a fountain featuring LED lights in the New Year.

The centre of Wolverhampton is currently being transformed and will have a £300,000 fountain as its showpiece.

LED lights installed in the construction will colour the water a variety of hues and is expected to be a hit with visitors.

Neville Patten, leader of Wolverhampton City Council, explained that buses may even be banned from the centre so pedestrians can safely visit the area.

“I am still very much determined to re-route the bus lanes so we can create a real cafe culture in the square,” he told the Express and Star.

“I wouldn’t feel too comfortable sitting outside with a nice cup of cappuccino and then a bus comes trundling past. This will be a big job but one I really think needs to be done.”

According to Spalding Today, Springfields Outlet Shopping and Festival Gardens, in Lincolnshire, recently unveiled a £500,000 fountain which features LED bulbs.
