Potatoes star in LED display
A US potato group has expressed its delight at the vegetable’s appearance on LED screens.
Images of potatoes will soon be beamed from LED screens located in Times Square.
The adverts are part of a drive from the Idaho Potato Commission which is seeking to promote the vegetable as an ideal food.
LED screens will display two adverts up to 415 times over the next week.
The first commercial concentrates on pushing potatoes from Idaho while the second raises awareness of the healthiness of the vegetable.
Frank Muir, chief executive of the group, believes the boards will help target large numbers of shoppers.
“We are excited to be reaching consumers in the number one market in a prime location during the peak holiday shopping season,” he told the Packer.
“Our home-grown healthy messaging will resonate with consumers as they prepare to feast with their families.”
The Planters’ character Mr Peanut recently returned to a Times Square LED screen after having an image overhaul.
I would recommend LED Synergy to anyone considering purchasing an LED sign. We have had so many compliments since it was installed and it has been a valuable asset.
