Authorities use LED billboard to catch criminals
Authorities from a US state are aiming to track down offenders with LED billboards.
Vanessa Torres, community outreach specialist, from Virginia, explained that images of wanted criminals which are displayed on LED billboards generate substantial tip-offs from the public.
Business owners in the area agree that in addition to providing advertising, the signs can also help to catch offenders.
Figures from Adams Outdoor Advertising estimate that 100,000 motorists regularly pass LED boards in the area, which can help raise awareness of dangers the public face.
Scott Baber, from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, explained that he started displaying images of criminals on LED signs when he saw how effective the boards are at locating law breakers.
“The billboard came to my attention from another agent in the office who had used this successfully to find one of his fugitives,” he told Wavy-TV.
Elsewhere, LED signs in Florida will be used to alert residents to dangers such as hurricanes.
I would recommend LED Synergy to anyone considering purchasing an LED sign. We have had so many compliments since it was installed and it has been a valuable asset.
