World Cup venue to install LED screens
Spectators to World Cup football matches in South Africa will be able to watch the drama unfold on LED screens.
Soweto’s stadium and Royal Bafokeng Stadium, in Rustenberg, are set to unveil new LED screens in time for the International Federation of Association Football World Cup in 2010.
A screen measuring 40-square metres and designed by Barco will be installed in the Rustenberg venue as well as a digital scoreboard.
CCTV cameras are also being incorporated into the arena to boost spectator safety
Orlando Stadium will get two LED screens with each one measuring 30-square metres.
Sobi Mokholo, from screen supplier Questek, explains that the new boards feature world class technology and are likely to be well-received by sports fans at the venues.
“Spectators will be informed, entertained and educated in a way that they’ve never experienced before,” he said.
Screen designers Barco recently installed an LED board into Gulfstream Park, in Florida.
I would recommend LED Synergy to anyone considering purchasing an LED sign. We have had so many compliments since it was installed and it has been a valuable asset.
