When it comes to making an impact

LED-based billboards and displays are getting ever bigger, with new sites being unveiled in theUKand acrossEuropealmost on a weekly basis. So it will come as no surprise when the highly prestigious Riverlight residential development, commissioned LEDsynergy, a recognised leader in electronic display technology, to build and install a focal-point electronic billboard to promote this new and important riverfront London landmark.

The full colour, high-definition LED-display board, measuring a massive 6144mm wide by 3072mm high, has been installed some four metres above the pavement. Creative use of the surrounding hoarding further increases its impact and clear lines of sight ensure that many thousands of people now see it every day. The specially commissioned display unit was built in the UK to exacting standards by LEDsynergy using locally sourced craftsmen, components and materials and all done to an exceptionally tight timescale.

“Whilst this may not be the largest LED-billboard to date it is still one of the most impressive,” stated Jeremy Harwood of LEDsynergy. ”Considerable planning, preparation and effort went into developing the content of the material to be displayed, along with how the display board would be used and how it would be controlled.

“Often biggest does not necessarily mean the best and we worked closely with the developers to design and deliver a competitive and cost effective solution that met all their requirements. Reliability was a significant factor in this project so having designed a robust solution we only sourced and used the best components available, which we then put together and tested at ourAndoverpremises before shipping to the site for installation and commissioning.”

Riverlight comprises six pavilions, rising in height all with a North-South orientation, is located just across the water fromChelseaand less than a mile from the Houses of Parliament. Leading the field in sustainable, eco-friendly developments, it contains an exclusive collection of apartments, suites and penthouses designed by world-renowned architects Rogers Stirk Harbour & Partners and are being built by a Berkeley Group company. In addition to the prestigious residential accommodation, the scheme is dedicated to open space, with landscaped gardens, a riverside walkway and park, with many restaurants, bars, a crèche and a piazza and is part ofLondon’s largest and most exciting regeneration area on the South Bank.
