Ship decorated with 7,000 LED lights

Ship decorated with 7,000 LED lightsA cruise ship has been installed with solar-powered LED lights to reduce its carbon footprint.

Celebrity Cruises, manufacturer of the Celebrity Solstice, has told how the ship is the first to use solar power.

The ship has been designed to use as little energy as possible and is currently running an on-board exhibition that highlights environmental issues.

LED lights have been used to replace incandescent bulbs on the Celebrity Solstice when the traditional lamps fail.

Other power-saving efforts include coating the hull in silicone so it glides better through water and reflecting sunlight from the ship’s windows so less air conditioning is needed to reduce heat.

Dan Hanrahan, chief executive of the company, believes the energy-saving methods will have a positive impact on the environment.

“It’s a vivid example of our shared belief in doing all we can to preserve the earth’s fresh water, clean air, natural resources, and rich beauty,” he said.

The Norwegian Cruise Line recently announced it was installing LED lights into the bar areas of its new ships.

I would recommend LED Synergy to anyone considering purchasing an LED sign. We have had so many compliments since it was installed and it has been a valuable asset.
