President-elect’s first speech beamed from LED board
Barack Obama’s first speech as President-elect of the US was beamed to crowds with the help of an LED screen.
Up to 100,000 people attended Grant Park, in Chicago, to welcome in Obama and watch him make his first speech.
In addition to powerful lights, a mobile LED screen captured the President-elect as he addressed the crowds.
Bob Peterson, lighting organiser, worked in partnership with Obama’s team to help create the desired effect.
“I received directions from the Obama team that the lighting was to be appropriately conservative with no celebratory effects,” he said.
“The brief was to elegantly transfer from the exuberance of the campaign to the seriousness of the presidency.”
Images of the President-elect were also beamed from LED screens at the charity event, according to Lighthouse Technologies.
The company had donated the screens for the Napoleon Harris Celebrity Benefit Gala which Obama attended.
I would recommend LED Synergy to anyone considering purchasing an LED sign. We have had so many compliments since it was installed and it has been a valuable asset.
