Pentagon installs LED lights
The US government has made the move to greener lighting by installing LED bulbs in the Pentagon.
Cree recently announced that it would be supplying the defence centre with 4,200 LED bulbs.
Figures from the light supplier reveal that the lamps will reduce the carbon emissions of the building by 140 tonnes each year.
In addition, the lights need 22 per cent less power than traditional bulbs, leading to a reduction in energy bills.
Chuck Swoboda, chief executive of the company, explained that the US government was taking the lead in supplying environmentally-friendly lights in its buildings.
“The US federal government is taking a leadership role in energy efficiency for federal buildings,” he said.
“Installations of highly efficient, low-maintenance LED lighting, like these in the Pentagon and in the US Federal Reserve, demonstrate that the future of energy-efficient lighting is here today.”
In related news, LED lights were recently installed in Canada’s parliament buildings in Ottawa.
I would recommend LED Synergy to anyone considering purchasing an LED sign. We have had so many compliments since it was installed and it has been a valuable asset.
