Organisation to distribute one million LED lights
A Californian businesswoman has revealed her plans to distribute a million LED lights to poor communities.
Anna Sidana, from Palo Alto, is working in partnership with light company Cosmos Ignite Solutions to supply its solar-powered LED lights to people in Africa and India that face financial hardship.
The businesswoman has created an organisation called One Million Lights in order to raise funding for her project.
Ms Sidana explained that the LED lights are preferable to traditional kerosene lamps because they are more cost-effective and kinder to the environment.
In addition, the innovative lamps have been designed to be robust so they last a long time.
“We take lights so much for granted. It’s such a small thing that can completely transform someone’s life,” Ms Sidana told the Mercury News.
In other news, a businessman from the West Midlands recently created LED lights that can be powered by see-saws.
The inventor plans to take his lights to schools in Kenya to help them reduce energy bills.
I would recommend LED Synergy to anyone considering purchasing an LED sign. We have had so many compliments since it was installed and it has been a valuable asset.
