New Chinese LED screen taxi ad agreement reached

Third party businesses will now be able to advertise on LED screens located on taxi rooftops in China.

The transport information services company China TransInfo Technology will sell advertising space on the vehicles’ LED signs throughout the Dalian region in the north-east of China.

Dalian Liyang will distribute and sell the advertising space as part of the five-year deal.

Shudong Xia, chief executive of China TransInfo, said: “We are very pleased to finalise a long-term cooperative relationship with Dalian Liyang.

“We look forward to increasing our brand recognition and more actively deploying our dynamic and innovative taxi media advertising platform in Dalian.”

TransInfo parent company Dajian Zhitong holds exclusive rights to sell the advertising space and stands to gain around 30 per cent of the advertising revenue from the deal.

The company is also in the process of introducing a new GPS location and navigation application in 3,000 of its taxis.
