London Mayor proposes LED lights

London Mayor proposes LED lightsLondon may soon have LED lights installed to help the city become greener.

Boris Johnson, London Mayor, recently revealed proposals which would see the city’s residents save money due to green initiatives.

The mayor plans to reduce carbon emissions by a staggering 60 per cent over the next 17 years.

Proposals include planting 10,000 trees, introducing carbon zones, promoting recycling and harnessing energy from the city’s rubbish.

In addition, low carbon devices may be installed such as LED traffic lights while electric cars could be pushed.

Mr Johnson stated that the proposals may lead to a better quality of life for city-dwellers.

“Protecting our environment is one of the key issues we face today,” he said.

“Londoners deserve to live in an attractive, green, clean city and we have a duty to see that we improve Londoners’ overall quality of life.”

Figures from the UK Energy Research Centre reveal that traditional traffic light bulbs in the UK are responsible for releasing 57,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide.

I would recommend LED Synergy to anyone considering purchasing an LED sign. We have had so many compliments since it was installed and it has been a valuable asset.
