LED signs feature homeless pets
Abandoned animals in a US state have a better chance of being rehomed thanks to an LED sign.
A newly-constructed animal sanctuary in Arlington, Texas, has installed a huge LED billboard outside its premises in order to advertise pets awaiting new homes.
The new centre cost approximately £3.8 million to construct and replaces an earlier animal centre built on a different site.
Staff at the centre hope the LED sign encourages more prospective pet owners to visit as presently just 41 per cent of animals at the sanctuary successfully find new owners.
In addition to LED technology, the sanctuary also boasts state of the art facilities such as climate-controlled kennels and operating theatres.
Jay Sabatucci, from the Humane Society for the United States, explained that the innovative facilities help to improve the care of animals at the centre.
“There are new ideas about how shelters should be run,” he told the Star Telegram.
“People realise you can’t have a fenced-in area you throw dogs in anymore. People want their family members treated better.”
Figures from market research company Frost and Sullivan indicate that LED advertising is worth approximately £344 million a year globally.
I would recommend LED Synergy to anyone considering purchasing an LED sign. We have had so many compliments since it was installed and it has been a valuable asset.
