LED screens to display football spectators’ avatars
LED screens are being used to provide pre-match entertainment at a German football stadium.
Mobile game provider Artificial Life has teamed up with the Allianz Arena, in Munich, to entertain spectators who are waiting for football matches to begin.
Using mobile phones, up to 69,000 spectators are invited to take part in a quiz.
Those that get the answers correct will find themselves being represented on LED screens as avatars.
The virtual images of the sports fans playing the quiz are beamed from 92-square meter LED boards.
In addition, some players will find their avatars represent players on the FC Bayern Munich team.
Eberhard Schoneburg, chief executive of Artificial Life, reports that the quiz is likely to entertain sports fans at the venue.
“This is a great opportunity for us. Our technology enables flexible adoption to different program formats and locations,” he said.
“We would also like to express our greatest thanks to FC Bayern Munich for using our technology to enhance the entertainment of the audience during their home games.”
The stadium received its first LED screens in 2005.
I would recommend LED Synergy to anyone considering purchasing an LED sign. We have had so many compliments since it was installed and it has been a valuable asset.
