LED screen ‘films’ its viewers
The numbers of people looking at an LED screen in Japan is to be measured by an information technology company.
NTT Communications has installed a camera near an LED screen located in Tokyo’s railway station.
The camera will record people looking at the screen in order to get an exact figure regarding the amount of commuters who read the display’s adverts.
Tetsuya Kinebuchi, senior research engineer at the company, told the IDG News Service: “To automatically measure the effectiveness of the advertisements we can put a camera and PC nearby.
“By using the image from the camera we can estimate how many people are looking at the monitor.”
Results from the study are expected to provide information on the best way to get more people looking at adverts on LED screens.
Japanese company, Ushio, recently developed the first LED simulation display through its Christie subsidiary.
The screen uses LED technology to realistically replicate different environments that can be used for military training.
I would recommend LED Synergy to anyone considering purchasing an LED sign. We have had so many compliments since it was installed and it has been a valuable asset.
