LED displays taking alphabetical shapes
LED displays at a growing number of sports stadia in the US are starting to be chosen not in the standard square or rectangular shapes but, instead, in a number of unique arrangements, which take advantage of the flexibility of LED technology.
The latest stadium to get a bespoke LED display is the MetLife arena in New Jersey. The name of the venue has been turned into a large scale LED display, with each of the letters measuring around four metres high, creating a cogent screen which is 21 metres wide.
There are actually two of these displays, arranged one at either end of the venue and they are far more than simple illuminated letters, because they can support the playback of animations, as well as full motion video. A large colour pallet is also at their disposal, making is possible to showcase virtually any content or theme on the LED displays.
LED display manufacturer D3 is responsible for the construction of these tailor made screens and it hopes that other sporting arenas across the US and further afield will see the benefits of using this technology when creating a unique, dynamic large scale screen for broadcasting and brand reinforcement.
The benefits of using modern LED displays such as these go far beyond the interesting shapes which can be formed. You have to consider the easy access for maintenance, temperature sensors for constant monitoring of efficiency and, above all, a light construction which makes them easy to mount and install almost anywhere.
D3 is responsible for a number of high profile LED displays, including one in Times Square. Live sport is a big business across the world and this latest screen technology will allow stadia to define their own brand and personality far more effectively than using static signs.
I would recommend LED Synergy to anyone considering purchasing an LED sign. We have had so many compliments since it was installed and it has been a valuable asset.
