LED displays hitting 100 London bus stops

LED displays hitting 100 London bus stopsLED backlit displays with LCD panels and full HD resolutions are set to be installed at around 100 locations in the capital in order to target commuters taking some of the busiest bus routes around.

The LED displays are already being installed at many bus shelters and the scheme will go live on November 28th, with analysts expecting to see more than 10.8 million impressions per week made, as a result of the new signage network.

Clear Channel International is responsible for the roll-out of the new dynamic advertising platforms at London’s bus stops and the screens will not only feature full motion, full colour images and video, but will also be complimented by traditional, static advertising on the rear side.

The LED technology built into the displays will allow them to produce 2000 nits of brightness in order to make them highly visible during the day and after dark. In fact, the luminosity of the screens will be automatically controlled to adapt to ambient lighting.

Each LED display measures 72 inches across and is arranged in a portrait orientation, taking up one exterior wall of the bus shelter.

Because it is outward facing, it will not be intrusive for anyone waiting under the shelter but will still engage large numbers of pedestrians and motorists passing it by on a daily basis.

The LED backlighting is rated to retain optimal levels of brightness for a total of at least 30,000 hours and adjustments are made every four milliseconds in order to ensure that there is total consistency in the quality of the on-screen images.

In addition, the energy efficiency of the screens is drastically improved thanks to on the fly adjustments, consequently improving the lifespan of each and every unit as a direct result.

I would recommend LED Synergy to anyone considering purchasing an LED sign. We have had so many compliments since it was installed and it has been a valuable asset.
