LED displays common in cutting edge digital signage
More and more digital signage firms are rolling out LED displays in order to improve the performance of networks which offer advertising and information in public places across the country.
LED technology is being chosen not only because it is more efficient and slimmer than older alternatives, making operation inexpensive and installation cheap. It is also able to provide a much better viewing experience with higher brightness to ensure clear legibility even in bright conditions.
US firm DynaScan Technology has recently announced its own range of LED displays which use local dimming to enable enhanced contrast ratios and major reductions in energy consumption, making sure that the screen is adapting to the image in real time.
This type of display can be used as a standalone product, but with a bezel of just over one centimetre surrounding the screen it is also likely to be featured in LED video walls in department stores and shopping centres.
It was impossible for traditional CCFL backlighting found in the previous generation of digital signage displays to match the same levels of brightness and efficiency. In a world where consumers are increasingly expecting to see impressive high definition pictures not only at home but also on digital displays when they are out and about, these kind of advances are entirely necessary.
One further benefit of LED displays cited by DynaScan is the fact that the lifespan of the screen can be increased thanks to the intelligent management of temperature. Excess heat is dissipated safely away from components that might otherwise degrade over time and there is an internal thermometer which prevents the whole display from becoming overly hot.
There is no doubt that LED systems are infiltrating wider areas of society than ever before and making a real impact in the process.
I would recommend LED Synergy to anyone considering purchasing an LED sign. We have had so many compliments since it was installed and it has been a valuable asset.
