LED display powered by USB
A new LED display will allow the user to power it via USB rather than directly from the mains supply.
The 16 inch display uses an LCD panel and has LED backlighting, pumping out a 50 million to one contrast ratio and running a native resolution of 1366×768.
What is the most obviously interesting aspect of this LED display is that it only requires power from a single USB port to bring it to life, with a smart mechanism on the rear, allowing it to be mounted in either a portrait or landscape orientation.
Portability is obviously key to the functionality of this LED display because it will be able to operate independent of mains power, as long as there is a spare USB port around. This would make it great for on the fly presentations.
The screen is protected by a hard glass layer and it is very lightweight, adding to its overall portability credentials.
What makes it possible for the display to use the power from a USB port is in part the energy efficiency of its LED backlighting technology. Previous fluorescent backlighting would have been excessively power hungry and so required more than just the voltage available from one USB input, but the impressive progress of technology has allowed LED displays to remedy this issue.
Spokesperson, Robert Velez, said that the LED display will be a good supplement to standard laptop screens for those who are on the move but want a larger area and higher resolution to showcase their ideas.
While the display will have the option to draw power via USB it will also have a traditional input to allow it to run on mains electricity, so you get the best of both worlds when you invest.
I would recommend LED Synergy to anyone considering purchasing an LED sign. We have had so many compliments since it was installed and it has been a valuable asset.
