LED display lights up London Fashion Week
London Fashion Week is always big business and the eyes of millions turn to the capital to see the latest styles on the catwalk.
This year a large LED display housed at LFW headquarters in Somerset House is being used to make the event even more accessible, by broadcasting live streams of the various shows and exhibitions to those who are present.
The LED display is not just used for streaming live, but also for daily round-ups which highlight the most impressive aspect of each passing day at LFW.
The digital power of the LED display is being harnessed to mix a variety of content platforms together, with video content regularly being accompanied by new posts made on Twitter by the official account of London Fashion Week.
Somerset House is not the only place where LFW is being streamed as other LED displays across the capital are home to live content. Various underground stations, including Oxford Circus and Charing Cross, have been taken over by LFW streams and the LED signage is being used to its full potential to publicise the event and the goings on within its exclusive doors.
Piccadilly Circus is getting involved in the streaming action, with one of its large scale LED displays being used by fashion label Burberry, to showcase a stream in what will be a first for one of London’s best-known landmarks.
Experts are getting excited by the new influx of digital media into LFW and many are suggesting that more designers and labels will need to jump on the bandwagon and use LED displays and streaming services, in order to connect with the wider audience. Without this, it is feared that some names may fade into obscurity, as others take advantage of the new tools and flourish.
I would recommend LED Synergy to anyone considering purchasing an LED sign. We have had so many compliments since it was installed and it has been a valuable asset.
