Emergency alerts displayed on LED signs
A US company has won contracts which see emergency messages displayed on LED screens.
ViaRadio, from Florida, has joined forces with cities in the state to provide equipment which alerts the public to possible dangers such as hurricanes.
Sean Crane, vice president at the company, explained that schools and fire services could also benefit from the innovative technology which can prepare them if natural disasters occur.
The firm provides radios which automatically tune-in to emergency messages which are then displayed on LED screens in public areas.
John MacDonald, from Indialantic Fire Rescue, stated that the system is an effective way of safeguarding residents from dangers.
“As a community which counts on a bridge for evacuation, we need a reliable way to communicate emergency information to our citizens even when the power lines have gone down,” he told Florida Today.
Earlier in the year, scrolling LED screens were launched by Inova Solutions for displaying emergency alerts in universities.
I would recommend LED Synergy to anyone considering purchasing an LED sign. We have had so many compliments since it was installed and it has been a valuable asset.
