Beijing Capital International Airport gets new large scale LED display
An LED display that has an area of 150 square metres has been launched at the Beijing Capital International Airport in China.
A yearlong contract to advertise on the LED display has been secured by China New Media, for an estimated value of 1.75 million.
The LED display has a prime position within the airport, sitting at a junction where passengers for both terminal 1 and 2 will pass and it is also the first large scale LED screen that the venue has ever supported.
Almost half of the people who visit the airport will see the screen, giving it an annual audience of around 27 million, according to the Sacramento Bee.
China New Media CEO, James Wang, said that the new LED display launch event would be one of the most significant in the company’s history and would certainly be a turning point for advertising within this major international airport.
China New Media has been operating for just over a decade and it now runs a network of LED systems within bus stops, taxi ranks and other public areas, display advertising and information to a large audience across the north east regions of the country.
Airports are a particularly popular place for advertising because of the assumed affluence of the audience and the constant flow of newcomers ensuring as large a number of people can be exposed to campaigns as possible.
An LED display is an obvious choice for such a large scale venue, enabling the operators to showcase dynamic content which engages passersby far more than static advertisements. In addition, the LED technology will be far more economical, saving electricity and costing less money each year, thus making both environmental and financial sense during the tricky investment process.
I would recommend LED Synergy to anyone considering purchasing an LED sign. We have had so many compliments since it was installed and it has been a valuable asset.
