Alcatraz boat features LED lighting
Tourists can now travel to a US tourist attraction on a boat installed with LED lights.
The Hybrid Hornblower was recently unveiled by Alcatraz Cruises which runs trips to the famous former prison in San Francisco.
Powered by solar and wind energy, the boat features two ten-feet high wind turbines and panels to store the sun’s energy.
In addition, LED lighting has been installed throughout the vessel which helps the natural energy go further.
The entire boat has been constructed from recycled materials and the company hopes it will act as a model for other vessels.
Terry MacRae, chief executive of the cruise firm, said: “The Hornblower Hybrid is not only the next step in Alcatraz Cruises’ goal of becoming the greenest concessioner in the National Park Service.
“With this vessel we hope to become a model of environmental innovation for the city of San Francisco and state of California.”
In other news, a ship manufactured by Celebrity Cruises features 7,000 LED lights powered by solar energy.
I would recommend LED Synergy to anyone considering purchasing an LED sign. We have had so many compliments since it was installed and it has been a valuable asset.
