LED displays pushing 3D technology
Viewsonic is creating a new range of LED displays in order to promote 3D stereoscopic entertainment to a wider audience, partnering with graphics chip firm Nvidia to get the job done.
In the past consumer LED displays with 3D capabilities would require additional purchases of active shutter glasses and compatible synchronisation kit, but the new Viewsonic monitors integrate the latter and come with a pair of specs to make sure you can enjoy the effects straight out of the box.
The 24 inch LED display being launched by Viewsonic is designed to allow home PC users with a compatible Nvidia graphics accelerator to enjoy 3D movies and the growing number of 3D games that are hitting the market at the moment.
In the past 3D displays have been prohibitively expensive, causing many to ignore them in favour of much cheaper, traditional 2D only screens. The good news is that Viewsonic has worked hard to get the price down so while it may cost around 30 per cent more than the equivalent 2D display it is still considerably more affordable than the previous generation of 3D LED monitors.
There is growing demand for 3D technology in the home and thankfully this is helping to bring down prices and improve sales. A recent study found that around 71 per cent of videogame fans would like to play their favourite titles in 3D so there is certainly a market emerging.
3D movies and a growing library of over 500 games can be viewed in all their glory on the latest LED displays. Of course 3D is not only limited to physical media formats because video streaming sites including YouTube are starting to introduce compatible content, making it even more worthwhile to invest in a 3D LED display and access the technology of the future.
I would recommend LED Synergy to anyone considering purchasing an LED sign. We have had so many compliments since it was installed and it has been a valuable asset.
